From Social Media Intern to Growth and Talent Lead at Flockjay

Objective: Enhance Flockjay’s online presence, drive brand awareness, and manage growth across multiple operational facets.

My Role and Responsibilities:

Social Media Intern:

  • Initial Assessment: Upon joining Flockjay, I identified significant opportunities to improve the company’s social media presence.

  • Strategy Implementation: Leveraged my expertise in social media to quickly implement strategies that boosted brand awareness and engagement. These strategies included content optimization, targeted social media campaigns, and regular engagement with the audience.

Promotion to Growth and Talent Lead:

  • Recognition and Promotion: My successful initiatives as an intern led to a rapid promotion to Growth and Talent Lead. The leadership recognized my ability to deliver results and entrusted me with overseeing critical aspects of the company’s operations.

  • Expanded Responsibilities: Took charge of Flockjay’s comprehensive branding efforts, digital marketing campaigns, advertising strategies, and community management. Additionally, I managed HR and sales operations, ensuring seamless integration and optimization of these functions to support the company’s exponential growth.

  • Strategic Leadership: Developed and executed high-impact strategies that aligned with the company’s mission and goals, driving significant improvements in operational efficiency and market presence.

Results:

  • Cohort Expansion: Successfully scaled Flockjay’s Tech Sales Bootcamp from a single cohort of 30 students to three simultaneous cohorts of 50 students each within a year. This growth resulted in a 400% increase in student enrollment.

  • Revenue Growth: Contributed to a substantial increase in revenue through enhanced brand visibility, targeted advertising, and efficient sales processes.

  • Community Building: Strengthened the community by fostering engagement through strategic social media initiatives and interactive content, resulting in higher retention rates and positive feedback from participants.

Key Learnings: This role marked my first full-leadership position, where I discovered my strengths in leading teams, creating strategies from scratch, and executing them effectively. I thrived in an environment that required both visionary thinking and meticulous execution. This experience highlighted the importance of strategic planning, comprehensive oversight, and the ability to inspire and guide teams towards achieving ambitious goals.
