Leading Outreach and Fundraising Campaigns at Minerva University

Objective: Enhance outreach efforts in Southeast Asia and launch a successful global Giving Tuesday campaign to raise scholarship funds.

My Role and Responsibilities:

Outreach Strategy in Southeast Asia:

  • Strategic Planning: I led the development of a comprehensive outreach plan targeting Southeast Asian students and educational organizations. This involved extensive research into the region’s educational landscape and identifying key opportunities for engagement.

  • Local Partnerships: I established and nurtured partnerships with local schools, educational fairs, and community organizations. This facilitated direct communication channels to promote Minerva’s unique educational model.

  • Event Coordination: Organized and managed outreach events, including informational sessions and interactive workshops, to connect directly with potential students and their families. These events were tailored to address regional interests and educational priorities.

Giving Tuesday Campaign:

  • Campaign Development: I was central to the conceptualization and execution of Minerva’s inaugural Giving Tuesday campaign. This involved crafting compelling narratives and messaging that resonated with potential donors, emphasizing the transformative impact of scholarships on students’ lives.

  • Content Creation: Developed a variety of content, including videos, testimonials, and social media posts, to generate excitement and engagement around the campaign. Each piece of content was designed to highlight the urgency and importance of supporting scholarship funds.

  • Digital Marketing: Implemented targeted digital marketing strategies to reach a broad audience. This included email marketing, social media advertising, and collaborations with influencers who advocated for educational causes.

  • Donor Engagement: Personally engaged with key donors, providing them with detailed information about the campaign’s goals and the potential impact of their contributions. Built and maintained strong relationships with these donors, ensuring they felt valued and appreciated.

Results:

  • Outreach Success: Successfully increased Minerva’s visibility in Southeast Asia, resulting in a significant uptick in applications and inquiries from the region. Our efforts laid a strong foundation for ongoing engagement and recruitment.

  • Fundraising Achievement: The Giving Tuesday campaign exceeded expectations, raising an impressive $7 million in scholarship funds. This milestone not only provided essential financial support for deserving students but also set a precedent for future fundraising initiatives.

Key Learnings: Through this experience, I honed my skills in leadership, strategic planning, and creative problem-solving. I learned the power of storytelling in fundraising and the importance of building genuine relationships with stakeholders. These efforts demonstrated how collective action and well-executed strategies could drive substantial positive change in the realm of higher education.
